Georgian Style Self-Build – South Dublin

#Carpet

Introduction

Our client had self-built a terrific Georgian-style property in South Dublin. Their brief to us was to combine finishes appropriate for the style of the building with practicality, given that they had both children and pets using the home. We had been recommended to the client by a trusted builder, so we also wanted to ensure that we delivered on the recommendation.

The Process

When designing the look and feel of the carpets, we worked closely with the client to ensure all their requirements were taken into account.

  • We fitted a heavyweight, twist pile synthetic carpet, as agreed with the customer. This reflected their family lifestyle requirements.
  • The carpet is designed to be bleach-cleanable.
  • We installed 11mm high-density underlay to maximise carpet longevity and also provide supreme comfort.
  • The carpet was installed in a traditional runner-style and centred on the stairs and all landing areas.
  • We achieved a statement black border by heat seaming a different carpet together with the main cream carpet.
  • Traditional stair rods were used to create a luxury finish and appropriate feel for the installation.

The Results

Our clients were very happy with the finished result, as it perfectly reflected both the aesthetic they wanted to achieve as well as they practicality they needed for their family lifestyle.

  • The durability and maintenance aspects of the carpets were considered.
  • The finished result fits the style of the property perfectly and will look stunning for years to come.
